Hoya manipurensis is a beautiful climbing hoya native to northeastern India. It’s known for its elongated leaves, fast vining growth, and delicate clusters of starry flowers.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light. Can handle a bit of soft morning sun.
- Water: Water when the mix is mostly dry. Avoid keeping roots constantly wet.
- Humidity: Loves higher humidity (60%+ if possible), but adapts to normal household humidity.
- Soil: Very airy hoya mix:
- orchid bark
- perlite
- coco husk/chips
- small amount of potting soil
- Temperature: Warm temperatures are best — around 18–30°C.
Growth Style
- Fast-growing climber.
- Does well on a trellis or hanging naturally.
- New leaves often emerge soft and lighter green.
Flowers
The blooms are small, fuzzy, and star-shaped, usually appearing in clusters called umbels. Like many hoyas, flowers may develop a sweet fragrance.
Tips for Success
- Keep roots snug in the pot.
- Good airflow helps prevent root rot.
- Don’t remove old flower spurs — hoyas rebloom from them.
