Sansevieria 'Congo' variegated Big Leaf ( Rare Find)

At 31 inch tall  

a rare, slow-growing succulent prized for its wide, paddle-like leaves and striking yellow and green stripes. This low-maintenance houseplant is tolerant of neglect and also acts as an air purifier. 

• Light: The plant is adaptable and can tolerate low light, but it thrives in bright, indirect light, which promotes more intense variegation and faster growth. Avoid intense, direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
• Watering: As a succulent, it is drought-tolerant and very susceptible to root rot from overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, watering even less frequently during the winter. It's better to underwater this plant than to overwater it.
• Soil and potting: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a sandy or cactus mix, to prevent the roots from becoming waterlogged. Choose a sturdy pot with good drainage. Terracotta is often recommended because it helps wick away excess moisture.
• Temperature and humidity: This plant prefers average household temperatures between 60°F and 75°F (15–24°C) and low humidity. Protect it from cold drafts, as temperatures below 50°F (10°C) can cause damage.
• Fertilizer: Fertilize sparingly, using a diluted general-purpose houseplant fertilizer only once or twice during the spring and summer growing season.
• Pest and disease: The most common problem is root rot caused by overwatering. The plant can also be susceptible to pests like mealybugs and spider mites, which can be wiped off with a damp cloth or treated with neem oil.
• Toxicity: Be aware that the Sansevieria 'Congo' is mildly toxic if ingested and should be kept out of reach of children and pets.

📦 Shipping: This plant will be shipped in soil. It will be wrapped in double lined foil insulation during winter months. Orders are sent by FedEx. We do not ship to PO Boxes. Orders are collected throughout the week, packed for shipping on Sunday and shipped out Monday & Tuesday for the following weeks' orders.

Return Policy
Our shop strives our best to hand select the healthiest plants for all of our customers. We understand plants are delicate and damage may occur however we do not offer any refunds. In the cause of an issue the buyer and shop can discuss either a replacement plant or shop credit to use on a future purchase. The buyer must return the damaged item in order to receive either the replacement or shop credit.
